This exhibition is comprised of works which extend the artist's practice of making pastels on sight (En plein air) in the summer and carefully developing oil paintings from them over the fall and winter. Lo Presti's works draw inspiration from Deer Isle, Maine where he and his wife have vacationed for many years and other New England views which have impressed themselves on the artist's memory. A strong sense of color and light inform his work and the underlying structure found in nature, which was instilled in him by a mentor, the late Paul Zimmerman.
