Joseph B. Kahill was born in 1882 in Alexandria, Egypt and immigrated to the United States in 1925 where he eventually settled in Portland, Maine and was best known for his portraits and landscapes. His work can be seen at the Federal Building in Portland, the Maine State Capital Building, Bates College and the University of Maine.
